It’s Better, But Is It $250 Better?
As far as Ars Technica can tell, the PS5 Pro is a stopgap measure to try to sell some more product before the release of the PS6. The specs look like you should see a difference, the PS5 Pro’s RDNA-based graphics engine produces 16.7TF of GPU compute performance compared to the base PS5’s 10.23TF. However, while switching back and forth between the two Ars struggled to “notice any subjective difference in overall visual quality.” In the screenshots you can make out some differences, but while playing a game Sony’s PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution feature is hard to notice.
If you don’t have a PS5 because you gave up on ever seeing one in stock for sale at it’s MSRP and were waiting for the PS5 Pro, it seems you are best to either grab that PS5 or wait for the PS6. There is also the lack of an optical drive to consider, the PS5 will not help you watch any of your Blue-Ray or DVD collection.
On the other hand, there is good news about the upcoming Switch you can check out just a quick scroll down.
Even if you're in the market for your first PS5, I'm not sure the Pro is the version I'd recommend. The $250 difference between a stock PS5 and the PS5 Pro similarly feels like it could be put to better use than the slight visual improvements on offer here.

Kinda feels like how we live in the PC world, Performance/$ wise. Yea this card is clearly better, but is it 250$ better? (we just get as high a number as we can with the cash we have tho)
